02/10 further complications become apparent. We decide not to pursue adopting in Mexico.
01/10 DIF proposes possible matches, but we didn't receive enough info or referral to proceed.
01/10 scheduled home visit and started gathering paperwork for renewing I-800a
05/09 gathered additional documents required for dossier, traveled to Mexico and submitted dossier to DIF in person, had three meetings in person with DIF, were approved to adopt in Mexico and were placed on waiting list
04/09 dossier returned to agency to hold until it is submitted, researched options of states where we have family, decided on state, investigated dossier requirements for that state
03/09 dossier translated into Spanish by certified translator
02/09 received CIS approval in mail, apostilled dossier, agency reviewed dossier, dossier sent to translator in Mexico City
01/09 modified a document for our dossier, USCIS reviewed our I800A and requested additional wording to homestudy, agency supplied the wording, CIS approved our I-800A on January 30 and put it in mail to us
12/08 received updated psych eval report, compiled dossier documents, started authenticating documents, had fingerprint appointment at local CIS office for background check
11/08 received adoption agency approval, filed I-800A with CIS, more info was added to our psych report
10/08 revised homestudy, revised homestudy again (this is just part of being among the first - we are trying to incorporate all of the new requirements the best we can), worked on photo albums for the children
09/08 mailed application packet to agency, revised homestudy report, attempted again to get agency approval on homestudy
08/08 received first complete homestudy report, made attempt to get adoption agency to review and approve the homestudy report, had psychological evaluations, compiled application materials
07/08 obtained clearances from everyplace we've lived since turning 18, had medical evaluations, gathered paperwork, had homestudy visit, received first draft of homestudy report, took parenting classes
06/08 Selected Hague Accredited adoption agency, had orientation, selected homestudy agency, started paperwork
05/08 Researched and contacted agencies
